Invoice Generator
Bill a client for goods or services, with taxes, discounts and a due date. Free, no sign-up, PDF in one click.
What is a Invoice?
An invoice asks a customer to pay for goods or services already delivered. It lists what was sold, the price, taxes and the date payment is due, and it is the main record for your accounts and tax returns.
This free invoice maker lets you create an invoice online, add your logo and VAT, and download a professional invoice PDF in seconds. It works as a simple invoice template you can reuse for every client, with automatic totals and invoice numbering.
What to include on an invoice
- The word “Invoice” and a unique number. Number invoices in sequence (for example INV-0001, INV-0002) so each one can be traced and none are missing.
- Invoice date and due date. The issue date starts the payment clock; the due date or payment terms (Net 15, Net 30) tell the client when to pay.
- Your business details. Name, address, contact details and, where required, your tax or VAT registration number.
- Client details. The legal name and address of the customer you are billing, plus their tax number for business-to-business sales where your country requires it.
- Itemised lines. A clear description, quantity, unit price and line total for each product or service.
- Tax, discounts and total due. Show the subtotal, each tax rate and amount, any discount, and the final amount payable in the stated currency.
- Payment instructions. Bank details, accepted payment methods and any late payment terms, so the client can pay without asking.
How to create an invoice online
- Enter your business name, address and logo in "Your business". Save them as your default and they will be filled in next time.
- Add the other party's details and the document number and dates. Numbers increase automatically.
- List the items. Quantities, prices, taxes and totals update in the preview as you type.
- Pick a template, colour and document language, then click "Download PDF" or "Print".
Common invoicing mistakes to avoid
- Reusing or skipping invoice numbers: it confuses your records and can raise questions in a tax audit.
- Vague descriptions such as “services”: list what was delivered and when, so the client approves the invoice quickly.
- Forgetting the due date or payment details: invoices without clear terms are paid later on average.

Questions about the Invoice Generator
How do I make an invoice for free?
Fill in your business and client details, add each item with its quantity and price, set the tax rate, then click Download PDF. The invoice is created in your browser and costs nothing.
What is the difference between an invoice and a receipt?
An invoice asks for payment of an amount that is due. A receipt confirms that a payment has already been made. Many businesses send an invoice first and a receipt once the money arrives.
