Electrical work often requires a certificate or test report, and in many countries the electrician must show a registration or licence number. Put it in “Other details” under your business so it appears on every invoice.

List materials such as cable, sockets and breakers separately from labour, and mention any certificate issued for the work.

What to put on a Electrician Invoice

  • Licence or registration number. Where your country requires it.
  • Work carried out. Installation, repair or inspection, with the address.
  • Labour. Hours and rate.
  • Materials. Cable by the metre, sockets, switches, breakers.
  • Testing and certificate. If a test or compliance certificate was issued.

Questions about the Invoice Generator

Where do I show my licence number?

In “Other details” in the Your business section. Save it as your default and it appears on every document.

How do I bill cable by the metre?

Enter the number of metres as the quantity and the price per metre as the unit price.

Can I turn a quote into the invoice?

Yes. Create the quote first, then use “Convert to” and choose Invoice when the job is done.
