A plumbing estimate lists the fixtures and parts, the labor (by the hour or flat rate), the trip or service charge, the permit if one is needed and the removal of old equipment. For repairs, say what happens if you find more damage once the wall or floor is open.

Free alternative to plumbing estimating software: write the bid here, save your license and company details, add photos of the existing setup and convert the approved estimate into an invoice at the end of the job.

What to put on a plumbing estimate

  • Fixtures and parts. Brand, model and size, with quantities.
  • Labor. Hours and rate, or a flat price per task.
  • Trip charge. Service call or trip fee, shown on its own line.
  • Permit and haul-away. Permit fee and disposal of old fixtures.
  • Hidden damage. How extra work found during the job is approved and billed.

Questions about the Estimate Generator

Should I charge a trip fee on the estimate?

If you charge one, show it on its own line so the client is not surprised on the invoice.

How do I handle extra work?

Add a condition such as “Additional work found during the job is quoted and approved before it is done”.

Can the client sign the estimate?

Yes. The estimate has an “Accepted by client” signature box.
