Painting estimates are built from surfaces (walls and ceilings in m² or square feet), the number of coats, preparation work and the paint itself. A detailed estimate shows the client that you measured the job properly.
State what is not included (furniture moving, wallpaper removal) and how long the estimate is valid.
What to put on a Painting Estimate
- Surfaces and areas. Walls, ceilings, doors and trim, with measurements.
- Preparation. Filling, sanding, protecting floors and furniture.
- Paint. Brand or quality, colour and number of coats.
- Labour. Days or included in the price per m².
- Exclusions and validity. What is not included and until when the price holds.

How do I price per square metre?

Can the client sign the estimate?
Yes. The estimate has an “Accepted by client” signature box.
How do I turn it into an invoice?
When the job is done, use “Convert to” and choose Invoice.
