A concrete estimate starts with the area and thickness, which give the cubic yards of concrete, then adds demolition of old concrete, excavation and base, forms, reinforcement (rebar or mesh), the pour and finish, control joints and sealing. Most contractors quote flatwork per square foot and list extras such as stamping or coloring separately.
Free alternative to concrete estimating software: no subscription needed to send an itemized bid. Save your company details, add photos of the site and convert the accepted estimate into an invoice when the job is poured.
What to put on a concrete estimate

- Demo and base. Removal of old concrete, excavation and gravel base.
- Forms and reinforcement. Forms, rebar or wire mesh.
- Pour and finish. Concrete, finish type, control joints, sealing.
- Access and cure time. Access for the truck and when the slab can be used.
