Employers in the Philippines deduct the employee shares of three contributions: SSS at 5% of the monthly salary credit (up to ₱35,000), PhilHealth at 2.5% of basic salary (half of the 5% premium, with a ₱10,000 floor and ₱100,000 ceiling) and Pag-IBIG at 2%, capped at ₱200 a month. Withholding tax follows the TRAIN law brackets.

In the example, on a basic pay of ₱25,000: SSS ₱1,250, PhilHealth ₱625 and Pag-IBIG ₱200. The taxable income of ₱22,925 a month gives a withholding tax of ₱313.75 (15% of the annual amount above ₱250,000). Minimum wage earners are exempt from withholding tax.
